BlockShip

This is designed as a wargame model for any WW2 coastal game including Warlord game's Cruel Seas.

You will receive the three parts shown in the second picture.

Unpainted 3D printed model of Blockship. This is based upon my Ferris Cargo ship. The lifeboats shown in the picture will be removed from the model you get! You then need to glue the last image onto card (I can also send you this image) and then glue these parts to it. The sea effect is added with filler. The bow is modeled on a different plane to represent the ship having broken its back when sunk. The other pictures are to show the quality of the 3D print process.

I have designed and printed this model myself at 1:300 scale. MTB and full size cargo ship (in pictures) not included, for scale only. Please note the cargo ship is exactly the same size (its just the perspective of the picture that makes it look smaller.

Important please read carefully before buying.

Print on demand

I only have a small stock and will need to print more out if they sell quickly. This might mean a small delay in sending your ship. Please don't buy if you don't want to wait. I will contact you if there is going to be a delay.

Quality

This is a 3D printed model in ABS material. If you are not familiar with 3D printed models please look at the pictures carefully. The printing process works by building the model up in layers which are visible if you get close to it. The small parts such as the air vents and guns tend to loose quality.

Some gamer's prefer to remove these small parts and replace them with there own versions (wire). I, however, decided the model looked fine with them as is.

The printing process involves using a support structure (which I remove for you) which can leave small lumps. I then use an Acetate tank to smooth out the worst of the lines. It is easy to clean the model up even further with a scalp knife however care would need to be taken around the more delicate parts. I choose to not clean my model any more. The unpainted model shown is the quality I used for the painted version.

Having said all that if it is viewed from a short distance ie when playing a game you can not see faults. I have had very favorable comments from all my customers so far.

If you have any doubts about the quality please don't buy. I have tried to show the quality as clearly as possible in the photos.

Strength

The model itself is very strong and can take a lots of bashing. However, the more delicate parts like the air vents can be easily broken off. Super glues works fine to reattach any thing that does get broken off.

Painting

I find acrylic paint (I use Vallejo paints) takes very well to the ABS material. The painted model had a quick under coat of Vallejo grey airbrush primer then the deck was painted followed by the other detail.

Masts

I decided not to add the masts as I thought a Blockship would have had them removed. If you would like masts please send me a message and I will add them to your order.
